Fullmetal Alchemist - 95%

The best live action adaption of an anime I have seen.

The hair was the gooiest thing. Other than that, amazing.

Special effects, character development, plot, action.

I hope that this is a part 1 and that part 2 is just as good.

My favorite was the acting for Hughes and Winry!

Great movie, Highly recommend!

My Own Budget Java

I made my own budget program because I wanted to and Java.
It used JFreeChart and JDBC to connect to a SQLite database.

Main screen shows the transactions at the top and categories at the bottom in a split pane.

1. Categories can be created via the toolbar and edited by double clicking the cell.
2. Categories can be assigned by checking the Select column from the transaction table and then clicking the Set Category button and all the selected transactions will be assigned to the selected category.
3. Categories can also be mass selected by entering a regex for the category and then clicking the Search for Matches button. Only unassigned categories will be checked by the regex. Here is an example of my entertainment regex.

4. JFreeChart is used to plot a pie chart can be seen by clicking the Plot Pie button.
   - Plot pie for selected month
   - Plot pie for Average Daily Spending
   - Plot pie for Average Monthly Spending
   - Plot pie for Total Spending

5.  JFreeChart is used to a line chart can be seen by clicking the Plot Line button,
  - Each category as well as a total can be plotted by selecting the corresponding check box.
     - Average Daily
     - Average Monthly
     - Total Monthly
     - Total Daily

Lego Race Jet 42066 - 90%

Pros:
- Like the good color scheme
- Good functions
- Alternate build looks good


Cons:
- Price ... Just doesn't feel like a $160 set... Only 1151 pieces and 1 small motor.

Blade Runner 2049 - 92%

Great combined story.
Good ending twist.

Played well on the memories theme.
I liked how everyone thought that it was them that was the child.

Interesting how a robot man (K) loved a hologram / spirit girl. Especially with the love scene it felt like a chapter out of Her the movie.

This ending gave more closure than the first.

I didn't really understand anything about the character Jared Leto played or why he was important to the movie.

It takes a lot of time to watch both of these movies. I believe they would have a larger following if the movies were two hours each instead of three.

I recommend watching both of these, especially if you are stuck in bet healing like I was....

Blade Runner - 90%

It was interesting watching this back to back with the new Blade Runner 2049.
The fit together very well.

I am sure I missed a lot but here are my impressions:
In one sense the whole story is about memories... According to them, memories define us, and give us our foundation.. The specialness of Rachael was that she had memories and that somehow that she fit perfectly with Harrison Ford to make her pregnant. But, I found it odd, in the second movie,  most all the robots have memories but still Rachael was the only one that ever got pregnant...

The relationship between Rachael and Harrison seemed a bit forced, their main scene seemed borderline rape to me.

Never did understand much how the origami guy fit in... He was there the whole movie.

Harrison seemed weak and sloppy in the fight scenes.

Overall I know it was a head of its time and that is something hard to appreciate now but it did age well. I enjoyed it good enough. 

Bye Reptiles

Sadly, I had to find new homes for all my reptiles.
I was very sad/angry to have to give them up.
I had cared for them for 3 years but circumstances dictated that this was the end.
I was able to keep my Tarantulas but these are the reptiles that I cared for.

5 Geckos and 2 Corn Snakes.

Spectral - 98%

Wow. Far exceeded my expectations.
Good enough story.
Good enough acting.

I enjoy the effort to make it scientific and have explanations for everything. 

Great visuals and costumes.
Great setup for final battle that really delivers.
Great ending.

The making of the arsenal and how technology/equipment just kind of materializes out of some old junk seems a bit much but it didn't really spoil anything.

Highly recommend this movie!

Godzilla Netflix - 90%

A solid anime.

The setup was great.
I like how they actually follow the traveling at the speed of light sends you to the future route.
Well done animation and battles.
Imaginative.

Highly recommend.

Gotham by Gaslight - 60%

Meh. Didn't like this movie.

Animation was good.
Artwork was ok.
Story was terrible.

The big reveal of who Jack the Ripper was didn't fit the whole batman universe at all.
The way women were treated in the movie was upsetting.

I recommend against watching.

Cloverfield Paradox - 85%

I didn't really care for 10 Cloverfield Lane but it was good enough for me to give this a whirl.

I enjoyed The Cloverfield Paradox... I like the 'trapped on a space station' feel like old Aliens.
Had several fun suspenseful moments, the arm was over the top..
Did a fine job of tying the other two movies together.

I was surprised by release and I look forward to watching the future Cloverfield movies.

Enterprise S4 - 95%

Not as good as season three overall but still great.
I am sad that it ended at season 4... So much more that could have been.

I did get the feeling that ratings were probably plummeting and they where throwing scantily clad women at the screen in a desperate attempt to save it.. That being said.. it was still a great season.

I really enjoyed episodes 18 and 19 "In a Mirror" where they played out an alternate reality where they were all evil. They did a great job with the culture and selling the tone of it all and dressing up in the old costumes.

I really enjoyed episode 4 - 6 with Dr. Arik Soong played by Brent Spiner. Brought back all the good memories and fit the story very well.

Episode 13 "United" was dumb fight. Felt blah. Shran should have won the fight and somehow only cut off Archer's ear or something.

The final episode with William Riker and Deanna Troi was good but not great. It was a good tie in for TNG but a sad ending... why even bother to end it that way... At least it doesn't leave you hanging forever.

Great series over all. I am glad I watched it. So much better than Star Wars ;p 

Harlock Space Pirate - 75%

Watched because I liked Gantz: O ... disappointing...
It wasn't the worst thing I have ever seen...

The movie starts off with an impossible climb and question to become a member of the crew.
Once a member, the new recruit is week and clumsy.
Harlock was blah, not a well developed character.

The whole story felt weak.

Not really worth the time to watch it. I was just waiting for it to end..
