Plot was great. A lot deeper than most super hero movies.
Shoulda been a lot shorter.
Didn't care for the naked smurf.

Rorschach was cool. His mask was cool.
The character of the comedian was interesting.

Definitely not for children.

I felt that with just a few changes this could have been a great movie. But it wasn't...

Stranger Things - 90%

Over Hyped. All my friends raved about it..

I expected a twist because all my friends kept saying they didn't want to spoil it for me..
There was no twist. Just a lead in to the next season.

It was good.
Several suspenseful scenes.
Good character development.
Good pace. Nice length (8 Episodes)
Good plot.
O.K. ending..,

I am not a huge fan of the kid actors being the main for a show that is not for kids. Like Super 8.

Still, I do recommend watching this. It is better than most.

IT Crowd - 90%

Another comedy about noting really.

The scene is IT but only loosely.

Do not need to have any computer knowledge to get the jokes.

Moss (Richard Ayoade) and Roy (Chris O'Dowd) nailed their roles.
Everyone else was annoying.

And my most favorite of all was S3:E4 The Speech.

Great show to pick up every once in a while. Short episodes. Slapstick humor.

Apparently level 70 is about as high as can be run without having all ancient gear combined with high level Caldesann's Despair.

This ladder climb was accomplished using a build ripped off of youtube.

Mad Max Road Warrior - 85%

Started with a prologue about how mankind had turned against itself.
People killing / raping people as they see fit until there is nothing left.
We are almost there...

There were many similarities between this and Fury Road.
Story in Road Warrior is better than Fury Road.

My only complaint is that they showed the Gyro Captain crashing in such a way that he could not walk away from it but the next scene he had survived with no injury.

Watch Fury Road first... If you love it you should go back and pick this up.

Mad Max (1979) - 70%

Well, that is how Max lost his family.

Watched this because Mad Max Fury Road was so incredible.

Watched it filtered on vidangel .

Felt long and boring. Simply plot:
Max was a policeman who gave chase to some high member of a motorcycle gang and they blamed him for the death.
Basically long story short, the motorcycle gang killed Max's wife and kid and Max killed them back.

Only bother to watch this if you just have to know how it all started for Fury Road.

Looper - 95%

Great idea / plot:
Future gangsters zap people back to the past to be killed by "Loopers".
Eventually the gangsters send back Looper from 30 years in the future "Closing the loop".

Time travel movies never work but this one made a good go at it.

The kid who played the young Rain Maker rocked it. Fantastic facial expressions.

Always enjoy a movie with a good twist!

28 Days Later - 60%

Every time I complain about this movie I am told that this is as good as a zombie movie can be.

I disagree.

Walking Dead is hit or miss but when it hits, it is much better.

Basic plot:
Society falls apart after only 28 days.
People are stealing, killing, and raping.
Some ordinary bicycle delivery boy takes down 9 soldiers to save his newly met girlfriend from being raped by them.

Dumb... but what can you do with a zombie movie right?

Hansel & Gretel WH - 35%

The first time in a long while that I didn't make it through the movie.

My wife saw the trailer and liked the idea of the movie so we watched it off of vidangel.

About half way through she said she had enough and would rather read.

No plot.
Special effects came off cheesy and unrealistic.

I heard that they had tried to make a squeal but it fell apart.

Don't bother to watch.

Pete's Dragon 1-80% 2-70%

The first was better.

There is very little in common between 1 & 2 save boy named Pete and a Dragon..

The first had catchy songs, morals, conviction against drinking, and comedy.
The second is a action movie with no morals, conviction, and not much comedy.

It seems that that is the recipe for a movie these days.

Recipe: Achieve tempo, have strong minorities, and some action. If you can't explain the plot in 1 sentence then it is not good...

I like a little more...

Also, I hated that they turned the dragon into a dog.. !
Dragons are more than that! If there were such a thing...
